Hey everybody!
Today I completed another part of my planning process. As I completed by storyboards, I had to recognize that in these scenes, characters used props that have their own way of adding meaning to a story. Props can showcase how far dated your film is, what type of genre your watching and can be used to symbolize. Creating a prop list is a perfect way to get yourself organized so you know exactly what props you need for each scene. After creating my storyboard I went through each shot and created a list of what I included. To do this I found a helpful template that allowed me to easily put in information, it will be linked at the end of the blog.
So here it is!
Prop List
After making this list it can be seen that my props reflect the drama genre as they depict real life objects that can be used on the day to day basis of a teen and family. While creating my list I further realized the importance of props and how they play into the narrative. From scene 1, props like the swing and bench can create meaning as it might be the couples favorite spot. As for scene 2 with the most props, it gives insight on Zara and her relationship with Noah. And lastly, scene 3 showcases Zara's culture and traditions through food and drinks. You can really see how it all comes together this way. Until next time!
